Logan county- The County Commissioners of Logan County issues county wide burn ban, Monday morning. County wide burn ban is in effect until April 17, 2023.
County commissioners will re evaluate in two weeks to see if the burn ban will be allowed to expire or will have issue another burn ban.
Reason why the burn ban was issued is several structures were lost in the Simpson Fire and due to the weather being very dry.
“We are in an extreme drought,” Emergency Manager Steven Haga told the commissioners Monday morning.
Reasons to issue a burn ban-
1. Moderate, severe or extreme drought exists as determined by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
2. No more than 1/2″ of precipitation is forecast for the next three days.
3. And so more reasons.
Any person convicted of violating this resolution shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be subject to a fine of not more than $500, to imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
