MVA on Highway 33 claims a life; another was seriously injured


Logan County: Questions remain on how this fatality accident took place Saturday evening on Highway 33.


Approximately around 5:25P.M. Guthrie EMS was dispatched to State Highway 33 near county road 76 to a motor vehicle accident with a fully engulfed vehicle. Around 5:30 P.M. Coyle Fire Department and Langston Fire Department was dispatched to the scene to assist with a tanker. Coyle Fire Department was 10-22 shortly after, Langston Fire department stayed on scene to assist with traffic control.


A 2017 Cadillac XT5 was driven by 58-year-old Tyler Lyn Haley of OKC. She was transported to OU Medical Center by survival flight and admitted with serious injuries.


The second vehicle a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica drive by 73-year-old Sharon Maloy of OKC. She was pronounced deceased on scene and was transported to the Medical Examiner.


OHP is reporting the cause of the motor vehicle accident "under investigation."


According to one witness, a young man had pulled out Haley from the burning vehicle


The eastbound lanes were closed several hours while emergency crews worked the scene.


Guthrie EMS, Logan County Sherriff Office, Langston Fire Department, Langston Police Department & OHP responded to the call.
